Fried Coconut Shrimp

Coconut Lemon Shrimp

Caribean Coconut Shrimp Receipe

Serving : 4 – 6    

Preparation Time : 30 min

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 pounds uncooked shrimps in shells
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • 2 cups of cocnut juice
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • Pepper and paprika to taste
  • 1 piece crushed ginger or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 carrots, thinly sliced
  • 1 celery stalk, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice, zest
  • Hot cooked rice


  1. Heat water with salt in a big pot 

  2. Add shrimp and cook until they get pink

  3. Heat olive oil and brown onion and garlic

  4. Brown curry pulver in a pan with butter until the curry is deep brown

  5. Add the coconut and the pineapple juice, seasonings and sliced vegetables

  6. Cook with low  temperature for about 15 min

  7. Add shrimp and lemon juice with zest

  8. Serve with rice

Fried Coconut Shrimp

This is a delicious Shrimp Receipe coming from the Caribbean part of the world. Easy to make and nice for a warm summer evening. Enjoy it with white wine – for example a Chardonnay.

Taste it and you will love it.

Serving: 4 –6

Preparation Time: 30 min

Receipe Ingredients

8  cups olive oil 
½ cup all-purpose flour 
½ tsp salt 
½ tsp Cayenne pepper

2 large egg whites
2 cups coconut flakes
1 pound shrimp ( peeled and deveined) 


  1. Mix the flour, salt, cayenne pepper
  2. Beat the egg whites until frothy and put the coconut flakes on a sepparate plate
  3. Put the shrimp first in the flour, salt, cayenne mix than into the egg whites and at last dip the shrimp into the coconut flakes
  4. Heat a fryer up to 380 degrees and put the shrimp into the hot oil (the 8 cups of olive oil) during 2 – 3 min until they are golden brown
  5. Take them out and place them on a paper towel to absorb the remain fat
  6. Serve it soon as long as it is still hot

Enjoy it and feel like being in the caribic and listening to the waves of the ocean.

Coconut Lemon Shrimp Receipe   

This is another excellent and refreshing receipe. The coconut reminds at the caribic, the lemon is Refreshing and easy. With a little salad, it is a complete and deliscous dinner.

Serving: 4

Preparation Time: 30 min

Receipe Ingredients

2 tbsp butter  
1 hackled onion 
2 tbsp curry powder
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 apple ( chopped, without paring)
2 cups coconut milk
¼ tsp grated nutmeg
4 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp salt or to taste
¼ tsp white pepper
1 pound small shrimp ( peeled and deveined) 



  1. Take a pan, heat it and add butter and onion ( for about 3 min)
  2. Take the pan from the heat and add the curry. Mix it and add the flour
  3. Heat it again for about 1 min, pay attention that the flour doesn`t become brown
  4. Add the coconut milk and cook at a low temperature for 
    about 3 min
  5. Add the apple and simmer for about 8 min
  6. Mix nutmeg, lemon juice, salt, pepper and the shrimp and add all into the pan

With a fresh lemon sorbet for dessert, it is a light summer evening dinner. Enjoy it.
